Advanced Surgical Services

MyMichigan Medical Center Alma has been continually advancing health care capabilities for central Michigan residents by attracting some of the best and brightest minds in medicine, renovating infrastructure and patient care areas, and acquiring the latest technology to ensure that advanced treatments and procedures are available close to home.

Construction is currently underway on a new 51,200-square-foot advanced surgical services unit at the Medical Center. The redesigned patient care areas will offer patients and their families with increased privacy and security, as well as an environment of seamless, coordinated care.

To ensure that the Medical Center is well-equipped for the ongoing needs of those we serve, we are seeking support to help complete a $26 million multi-year renovation and expansion project.

This project includes:

  • three new large, state-of-the-art surgical suites
  • two procedure rooms; private pre-operative and recovery rooms
  • a new sterile processing department with close proximity to the OR

The surgical services phase of this project was completed in March 2024. Please watch for details on the grand opening activities to be published in early fall. An additional phase includes a new main entrance to the Medical Center and is slated for completion in Spring 2024.
