Aliferis Memorial Race
The Aliferis Memorial Race has been named in memory of longtime Alpena General Hospital Pathologist, Dr. Peter Aliferis. His work at the hospital of 37 years touched many people and the race is in appreciation of his contributions to the hospital and to the community. Dr. Aliferis received his medical degree from the University of Michigan and in 1963, joined AGH. He was appointed the hospital’s pathologist and laboratory director. Dr. Aliferis retired in July 2000.
The Aliferis Memorial Race benefits the Alpena Cancer Center, the Dr. Peter Aliferis Memorial Scholarship and advanced technology at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. This is a great family event for a morning of fun and support of the Medical Center. The race is open to runners, walkers and bikers of all ages and ability levels.
