1940 Anchor Society
The 1940 Anchor Society is an association of individuals deeply interested in MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena and the continued provision of quality health care services in Northeast Michigan. Each member contributes $100 or more annually. Membership contributions have been used to construct a mammography suite, complete with two state-of-the-art mammography machines. In addition, membership contributions funded the construction of a Patient/Family Conference Room located in the Cancer Center. Currently, members of the 1940 Anchor Society contributions are directed toward patient enhancements. Participants make a donation, to the Memorial Garden cause, to honor or memorialize a loved one with flowers planted in the garden outside the cafeteria. The names of those who have donated appear on a plaque which hangs in the hospital dining room, and are recognized in a donor listing.
