MyMichigan Health Foundation has received a $250,000 donation from Garr Tool Company of Alma to support the advanced surgical services project at MyMichigan Medical Center Alma.
“We are pleased to support this project that will impact so many people receiving care now and in the future,” said John Leppien, president of Garr Tool. “The residents of Gratiot County and the surrounding area benefit with access to quality care from MyMichigan Health. We appreciate being able to help broaden their vision by supporting this project that will offer world-class clinical care in a patient and family-friendly environment.”
MyMichigan Medical Center Alma has continually advanced health care capabilities for central Michigan residents by attracting some of the best and brightest minds in medicine, renovating infrastructure and patient care areas, and acquiring the latest technology to ensure that advanced treatments and procedures are available close to home. The 51,200 square-foot surgical services renovation in Alma will further the health care advancement by improving the Surgical Services Department to create a more comfortable environment for patients and their families, while also introducing state-of-the-art surgical suites, procedure rooms and more.
Over the years, Garr Tool has been a significant supporter of MyMichigan Health. Garr Tool provided the initial gift for the Alma Surgical Service program and, as a company established in 1944, they have consistently played a role in the community by supporting neighboring organizations.
“We are simply elated to not only receive the financial support from Garr Tool, but also their continued commitment, guidance and passion to offer nothing less than the best for those we serve needing health care,” said Marita Hattem-Schiffman, F.A.C.H.E., C.P.M.S.M., president, MyMichigan Medical Centers in Alma, Clare, Mt. Pleasant. “Patients and their families expect, demand and deserve excellent delivery of care and Garr Tool continues to help ensure that.”
