The Get With The Guidelines Rural Stroke award is available to Federally Designated Critical Access Hospitals or Short-Term Acute Care Facilities and Rural Hospitals located within Rural Urban Commuting Area Codes (RUCA). Recipients must demonstrate at least 75 percent compliance with a set of standards applicable to rural stroke care. The Medical Center in West Branch was among the inaugural recipients of this newly established award, and Bronze was the highest level attainable based on 90 days of available data.

The Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll™ recognizes hospitals that achieve an “Overall Diabetes Cardiovascular Initiative Composite Score” of greater than 80 percent for 12 consecutive months. Both Medical Centers met the standards to achieve this composite score.

The program in Midland is also certified as a primary stroke center and the program in West Branch is certified as a stroke-ready hospital by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC). These certifications confirm through an independent evaluation that the programs are complying with national standards and following evidence-based practices that improve stroke patient outcomes and reduce risk.
