Patients, visitors and staff of MyMichigan Medical Center Midland continue to benefit from the calming effects of music with the Music Care Program at the Medical Center. The next program will be held on Thursday, Dec. 7, with performances by members of Dow High School’s Honors Orchestra. The performance is scheduled to take place from 4 to 6 p.m., in the Hospital Entrance lobby. The Music Care Program is a program for youth musicians to share their music and talents with the hospital. Designed to help visitors, patients, and staff feel the calming effects of listening to music, including heightening positive emotions, reducing stress and anxiety, and reducing blood pressure, Music Care performances occur multiple times throughout the year where musicians sign up to perform, solo or with a group.
