Family Medicine Provider Welcoming New Patients in West Branch

Sadhika Verma, M.D., a family medicine physician, has joined the team at MyMichigan Health Park West Branch and is currently welcoming new patients to her practice.

Dr. Verma graduated from Manipal College of Medical Sciences in Pokhara, Nepal, and completed her residency at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital in Jackson, Michigan. She is the only physician in her family and takes a family approach with her patients, “I approach patient care with a goal of treating them how I would like me or my family members to be treated,” she said.

Education is also a significant component in her philosophy of care. “It’s important that my patients are educated and are as aware of their medical issues as they can be. I think that knowledge instills a confidence in patients to be able to better manage their medical problems.”

Dr. Verma is comfortable performing a wide variety of in-office procedures for patients of all ages. “What I love about family medicine is the opportunity to touch the lives of patients at all junctures and axes of their lives,” she said. “The relationships we get to cultivate with literally the whole family fuels my desire to practice medicine in a unique way to meet my patients’ health goals.”

Staying engaged with her community outside of work is also important to Dr. Verma. She has spent time and energy with such organizations as Indian Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, Yogesh Sachdeva Animal Foundation and the Delhi Olympic Association. She is currently involved with the Women in Medicine organization, which fosters skills development, action plans, advocacy, professional growth, education and inspiration for women in health care.
