Bariatric Informational ZOOM Session

MyMichigan Medical Center Sault Bariatric Informational ZOOM session is for patients interested in weight loss surgery and wanting to have bariatric surgery at MyMichigan Medical Center Sault in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

During this session you will watch a bariatric surgery informational video and learn more about procedures and expectations before and after surgery.

You will need a valid email address when you register as you will receive a ZOOM meeting invite through your email.

Steps to Surgery

  1. Sign up for a free ZOOM Informational Session
  2. Obtain a Referral from Primary Care Provider - You must have a referral recommending a weight loss surgery consultation. The referral must be sent to the Bariatric Surgery Coordinator for review.
  3. Insurance Requirements - You are responsible for determining insurance coverage and requirements before surgery. Please call your insurance company.
  4. Meet with Bariatric Surgeon - You will undergo medical, psychological, and dietary evaluations prior to their consultation. The bariatric surgeon will meet with you to discuss the surgery process and anticipated recovery.
  5. Weight Management Visits with Registered Nurse - You will meet with the Bariatric Program Coordinator regularly to review lifestyle modifications, weight loss goals prior to surgery, and receive helpful information on weight management.
  6. Registered Dietitian Visits - You will work closely with dietitians as you prepare for surgery. Three visits with a dietitian are required prior to surgery.
  7. Pre-Surgery History and Physical Exam - This will be completed 30 day prior to surgery.
  8. Follow-Up and Maintenance - Support will be available throughout the your lifetime after surgery.
