Biography

Tiffany Sito, A.G.N.P.-C., M.S.N., is a certified adult-geriatric nurse practitioner with MyMichigan Health and is a member of the comprehensive heart and vascular team. This team includes cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, heart failure and structural heart specialists, as well as vascular and cardiovascular surgeons. She sees patients at MyMichigan’s Heart Failure Clinic and specializes in helping heart failure patients manage their condition and maximize their quality of life.

Tiffany has always been interested in the field of cardiology and fascinated with how the heart works. “Knowing this is a chronic, condition enables me to really get to know my patients and help them throughout the course of their journey,” she added.

Philosophy of Care

Tiffany believes that educating and teaching her patients is very valuable. “A patient needs to be informed of every aspect of their care, including the disease, medications, procedures, lab results, etc.,” she said. “This helps them have a better understanding of their overall well-being. I believe in advocating for my patients and answering questions they may not even know to ask and using terminology that they can relate to and understand.”

According to Tiffany, the most satisfying aspect of her job is seeing her patients do well and have an improved quality of life because of something they’ve worked on together to achieve. “I like to work with the patient and let them know they are in the driver’s seat but I am here to help them along the way when needed,” she added.

“I genuinely care about my patients and their loved ones,” she said. “I want to deliver the very best care so that my patients can achieve the best outcomes and quality of life possible. I treat my patients like I would treat my own family members.”

Special Interests and Procedures

Tiffany enjoys being able to work up new heart diagnoses, as well start key initiatives to existing diagnoses to prevent further decline and possibly restore function. She also evaluates patients for referral for advanced therapies such as LVAD or heart transplantation. “I have managed complex patients with multiple comorbidities and continue to try to identify what will work when their aren’t many options,” she said. Tiffany is certified in basic cardiac life support (BLS), advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), and left ventricular assist device (LVAD).

In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. Her husband Cale and their two children, Hazel and Hunter, like to camp, hike, kayak, and be on the water whenever possible. “We attend an amazing church and enjoy spending time with family and friends whenever possible,” she said. Her husband also works in the health care field.
