Biography
Riley Bell, P.A.-C., A.T.C., is a certified physician assistant and a member of MidMichigan Health’s comprehensive musculoskeletal team. Riley sees patients in the office of Orthopedic Surgeon James Ware, D.O.
He first became interested in the field of orthopedics during his undergraduate training. Riley was playing baseball at the collegiate level which drew him into sports medicine. He then began to study athletic training as his major and had the opportunity to work alongside multiple providers in the orthopedic specialty, including an internship through the Los Angeles Dodgers. “My interest in orthopedics continued into my graduate training where all my elective rotations were orthopedics-based through top hospital systems like the Cleveland Clinic,” he added.
Philosophy of Care
Riley believes that the patient always comes first. “It is my goal to provide patient-centered care so that my patients can have the best possible outcome to optimize their day-to-day living,” he said. “I want a relationship with my patients that can be considered a partnership. I want us to be able to work together to make decisions that will be in their best interest.”
According to Riley, the most satisfying aspect of his work is being able to help patients heal from their injuries/illnesses so that they can fully live life to the best of their ability.
Special Interests and Procedures
He holds a specialize interest in anterior approach hip replacement; outpatient and arthroscopic total knee replacement surgery; shoulder surgery, including arthroscopic rotator cuff, shoulder labral (SLAP) tear repair, and shoulder replacements and reverse shoulder replacements; carpal tunnel release, as well as fracture care. Riley is certified in basic cardiac life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).
In his free time, Riley enjoys participating in recreational sports like wakeboarding, skiing, baseball, basketball, slow pitch softball and Spikeball. He also enjoys to hunt and fish.
