He is excited to be putting this unique combination of clinical and critical thinking skills to new use in his family practice.
Philosophy of Care
“Family practice is at the front lines of preventive care,” Joseph said. “Having worked as a nurse in the emergency care setting, I have witnessed unnecessary pain and suffering due to chronic disease. This inspired me to become a family nurse practitioner so that I could use my skillset to make a difference.”
“My goal is to be the patients’ healthcare steward, and I use a personalized, holistic approach to help them achieve their highest individual level of health. I try to create a patient-centered, trusting relationship in which they feel listened to and cared for. This enables us to have collaborative discussions about their care that are based on both their personal needs and the latest evidence.”
“The patient-provider relationship may span decades of a patient’s life, and in many cases their family’s as well. I consider it a privilege that they allow me to be their provider.”
Joseph has two children, ages 10-months and 9-years, that keep him plenty busy when he is not with patients.
“I also have a small hobby-farm, which I enjoy with my family on my days off.”
