Biography
Maria Mason, M.D., specializes in pediatrics and sees patients from newborns to teens at MyMichigan Pediatrics on the campus of MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena.
Philosophy of Care
“Working with children and their families toward healthy and happy childhoods is just so much fun,” said Dr. Mason. “From newborn visits and first-time parents learning the ins and outs of feeding and sleep schedules to teenagers looking for independence and growth, every visit is a blast!”
“The best care happens between patients, families, and providers who have developed trust in one another. My most meaningful and beneficial patient-doctor relationships occur with families I have been able to care for over the years, as we learn about one another and patients grow. This is what great medicine is about.”
“Being a source of information and support for my patients and their families is the best part of the job.”
“I’m outgoing, a straight shooter, love to laugh and find the humor in each situation. I’m always down to talk real talk. If that’s what you’re looking for in a pediatrician, then I’m your girl.”
“Without a doubt, the discovery and perfection of vaccinations is the number one medical game-changer, not just in pediatrics, but in medicine. I am an un-apologetic vaccination supporter; however, I never want families to be uncomfortable with the medical choices they make for their families. As such, I hope to develop trusting relationships with each of my patients so that I can help them to decide what options are best for them.”
“I am an avid horseback rider. I have an Andalusian mare named Ella who I ride primarily in Dressage. I also have a dog named Pippa, a Chihuahua/Papillon mix. I was a competitive Swing Dancer previously, and although my recent training has taken me away from social dancing, I hope to return to it.”
