Biography
Teresa Hall, D.O., is an orthopedic surgeon with specialized fellowship training in sports medicine. She treats athletes and general orthopedics patients and is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of injuries, disorders and diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
As a former collegiate soccer player, Dr. Hall appreciates that movement is medicine and how important it is for patients to return to their activities. “In surgery we can physically piece injured patients back together which is incredibly satisfying,” she said. “For me it can feel like a 3D puzzle and I enjoy working physically with my hands, especially when it means helping patients heal or recover. I’ve always really enjoyed physics and we use it a lot when you consider the musculoskeletal system, kinesiology and the medical implants or constructs we use in patients.”
Philosophy of Care
Her philosophy of care is to listen closely to her patients to understand what is afflicting them and to create relationships built on mutual trust. “I take time to understand my patients’ goals of treatment and plans for the future and then customize a treatment plan based on their individual wants and needs,” she said.
According to Dr. Hall, the most satisfying part of her job is using her hands to diagnose and treat patients and then helping them get back to their desired activity, at any level. “I really enjoy working with athletes through high school and following their career into collegiate sports,” she added. “I’ve worked with professional athletes in football, hockey and lacrosse, as well as NCAA division 1 athletes. It’s important to me to connect with and care for other female athletes, but I treat patients of any gender, at any level of competition or recreation, and at any age!”
