Biography

Alison Meyers, P.A.-C., is a board-certified physician assistant in family medicine. She sees patients at MyMichigan Family Medicine in the Campus Ridge Building on the campus of MyMichigan Medical Center Midland.

Philosophy of Care

“First and foremost, I want to make my patients feel heard and recognized,” said Alison. “I want to create a bond with my patients built on mutual respect and trust. I want to know them and who they are outside of what their medical chart says. I want my patients to feel comfortable being honest about their concerns and questions, never having to leave the office feeling confused or dismissed. I want to create an open and honest environment so my patients can feel confident in their care and know that their medical team puts them first.” “Nothing is more rewarding than empowering people to make their own informed decisions. I am here to inform and advise based on research, experience and guidelines, but ultimately, I want my patients to make their own medical decisions and not feel pressured or rushed. I want to ensure that every patient has time to ask questions, and I strive to make myself readily available via telephone and the MyChart portal. I enjoy helping people who have been searching for relief and healing to find solutions.” “I knew I was meant for primary care since my first day of family medicine rotation during PA school. Creating a non-judgmental and open environment is at the top of my priority list, along with continuity in care. Family medicine allows this to prosper. It is a privilege to get to know a person and their healthcare needs and to build trusting relationships to ultimately improve their quality of care. It is by far the most rewarding specialty to practice in, and I hope to be a provider who people can go to on their worst and best days, knowing I see them as a whole person and not just as a patient.” “Quality medical care originates from mutual trust and respect between a team of medical professionals and the patient. By listening to our patients and treating them with compassion and kindness, we can accomplish the utmost care and professionalism. I want to work as a team to provide the best possible medical care to improve the lives of people in my community.” “Preventive care is also key. Some of the most exciting and advantageous developments in medicine have been preventative vaccinations and the ability to screen for cancers and disease with tools such as Colonoscopies, Mammograms, Papanicolaou (Pap smear) tests and many more.” “My husband, Tyler, and I have 2 fur babies: Reese and Axle, who are five-year-old Labrador retrievers. In my (very limited) free time, I love to cook, bake, and be outdoors with my dogs on long walks. I am a Michigan native, and on weekends you can find me up north enjoying the fresh air. I am also a huge water person, whether that be fishing, kayaking, or simply going to the beach for a swim with my dogs.”
