Biography
Anthony Holst, D.O., is a family medicine physician with specialized fellowship training in primary care sports medicine. As a member of MyMichigan’s WellSport Program, he specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and management of a variety of musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries and medical conditions. Dr. Holst works with athletes of all levels, from competitive athletes to weekend warriors. In addition to injury prevention, he provides non-surgical treatment to patients suffering from strains, sprains, contusions, fractures, joint pain, and overuse-related injuries or arthritis. Treatments are designed to help patients maintain an active, healthy and happy lifestyle. If surgery is required, Dr. Holst can also help expedite the referral to an orthopedic or specialized surgeon.
“I have found that physical activity plays a crucial role in maintaining overall health,” he said. “My personal experiences dealing with injuries and the recovery process have given me a strong desire to not only educate my patients on the importance of an active lifestyle, but to treat and guide them through the best healing processes available if and when injuries happen. I want my patients to be able to live the best life they can.”

Special Interests and Procedures
Dr. Holst is passionate about working with athletes on sports performance. His special interests include ultrasound-guided joint injections, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, musculoskeletal ultrasound, advanced treatments and prevention of tendon injuries, as well as osteopathic manipulation.
