Biography
Ben R. Mayne, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with MyMichigan Health, and a member of MyMichigan’s comprehensive musculoskeletal team. As an orthopedic surgeon, he is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of injuries, disorders and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. This system includes bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, nerves and tendons. Dr. Mayne is a third-generation orthopedic surgeon and has been practicing in Midland since 1991. He currently performs surgeries at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland and Great Lakes Bay Surgery and Endoscopy Center.
“I believe that there are many treatment options for arthritis, athletic injuries and other orthopedic problems, and with a thorough understanding of the situation, patients can make informed decisions about their care and treatment,” he said.

Dr. Mayne’s philosophy of care is to continually strive to provide quality and timely orthopedic care. “My staff and I strive to provide our patients with proven treatment options and surgical interventions for the best possible outcomes,” he said.
Special Interests and Procedures
Dr. Mayne’s interests and procedures include total knee and total hip replacements, partial knee replacement, arthroscopic knee surgery and ACL reconstruction. Many of my knee and hip replacement procedures can be done on an outpatient basis with patients going home the day of surgery. I also offer hip replacement surgery using an anterior approach for many patients which can allow a quicker recovery.
