Biography
Urologist Karla Witzke, D.O., treats a wide variety of urological conditions using the latest in treatment techniques. Dr. Witzke offers appointments at her offices in Midland and Mt. Pleasant.
She has a special interest in female urology, a field which encompasses urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and sexual dysfunction. “These problems are complex and affect patients’ lives in many different ways,” Dr. Witzke explained. “Some patients withdraw from activities they enjoyed and may not want to leave their houses. Women do not have to accept this way of life. Our bodies change as we age, but that does not mean our quality of life should be controlled by that change.” Dr. Witzke said a variety of methods including physical therapy, biofeedback, medication, surgery and other treatments can be combined to help patients reach a better quality of life.
Philosophy of Care
A compassionate, caring surgeon, Dr. Witzke is concerned about patients with urologic problems. “It is a privilege to perform surgery and treat people who have put their trust in me,” she said. “I want my patients to know that all of their questions will be answered, and they will be taken care of as if they were part of my family. Together, we’ll explore every option for treatment of the diagnosis, whether it’s something as serious as cancer or as easily treatable as a kidney stone.”
