Biography
Sarah Sokolov, M.P.A., P.A.-C., enjoys taking care of women. She feels the she can have good dialogue with her patients and they feel comfortable talking with her about their concerns. “I love working with pregnant women as well,” she said. “It is exciting to be involved during their prenatal care as well as postpartum. I never tire of seeing first-hand the joy they feel with their newborn.”
While a majority of her patients are happy and healthy, Sarah and her partners are ready to make sure they can get the best care possible. “I want to make sure my patients can trust me with anything,” explains Sarah. “The office is a private environment and I want my patients to feel comfortable telling me anything that is bothering them without feeling judged. Knowing the whole story is very important in making sure the patient is fully cared for.”
Philosophy of Care
Sarah feels that a patient’s overall well-being is very important so when someone comes to her she tries to address all their health concerns. If there is something she can’t manage Sarah will work with her patients to make sure they find the right place or person to resolve the concern.
Special Interests and Procedures
The obstetric/gynecology field is constantly changing and Sarah enjoys seeing the new developments as they occur. The wide range of contraceptive options, management of a variety of gynecological disorders such as fibroids, abnormal bleeding, infertility and pelvic pain as well as new screening methods and imaging modalities in obstetric care are just a few of the many great advances she has seen in this specialty.
In addition to obstetric and gynecological needs, Sarah performs Endometrial biopsy, IUD insertion/removal, Nexplanon insertion/ removal, skin biopsies and assisting in surgery.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband, Tony, and their twin sons, Greyson and Liam. The family likes to sightsee around Michigan and take in the different activities in the area. They also have Zola, a Rhodesian Ridgeback (dog) which was their first “baby” and as time allows, they like to take her out to run on the trails at City Forest.
