Biography

Jeffrey Martindale, D.O., is a cardiologist with MyMichigan Health and is a member of the comprehensive heart and vascular team. This team includes cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, structural heart specialists, as well as vascular, thoracic and cardiovascular surgeons.

In addition to seeing general cardiology patients in Midland and Gladwin, Dr. Martindale sees patients at MyMichigan’s Heart Failure Clinic where he helps congestive heart failure patients manage their condition and maximize their quality of life. He also serves as director of the Heart Failure Program.

A Midland native and H.H. Dow High graduate, Dr. Martindale chose to practice medicine because he enjoys helping people. He wanted to impact patients’ lives and serve those in the community that he grew up in.

“The most satisfying part of my job is the patients I have the honor of caring for,” Dr. Martindale said. “Every day I know I can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.”

Philosophy of Care

According to Dr. Martindale, cardiology is a unique and dynamic field that offers opportunities to help people with many different types of heart conditions.

Dr. Martindale likes practicing cardiology as a team approach, or partnership, with his patients. “What I bring to the table should be equally as important as what they bring,” he said. “In working collaboratively with my patients, we can come up with an individualized treatment plan to achieve the best overall results.”

Special Interests and Procedures

Dr. Martindale’s special interests include congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, implantable cardiac devices, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac computed tomography. He has been involved in a variety of research projects, clinical presentations and lectures and enjoys teaching medical students and residents. Dr. Martindale also serves on faculty at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine as an associate clinical professor.

Dr. Martindale and his wife Kara live in Midland with their two children. In his free time, he enjoys family time on the water, playing a round of golf, and in the winter, downhill skiing.
