Biography
Trisha DesChamps, F.N.P., M.S.N., is a family nurse practitioner specializing in pulmonary and sleep medicine. She sees patients at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena and Alcona Health Center in Lincoln and Oscoda, Michigan.
Philosophy of Care
The pulmonary and sleep medicine fields are challenging, interesting and rewarding. Trisha likes to focus on specific disease processes and working in a specialty clinic allows her to do that. “It is a pleasure to be able to provide specialty services to a rural area that would otherwise have to travel for our services,” said Trisha. “I love this community and feel privileged to serve here.”
Her philosophy of care is patient centered and patient driven. “Providing health care is a partnership that is geared towards giving the best holistic care possible for the benefit of the patient,” she said. “My patient’s quality of life is of utmost importance.”
The most satisfying part of providing pulmonary and sleep medicine care for Trisha is helping her patients be the best they can be. “Striving to give my patients the best quality of life possible, whatever their health status, is rewarding,” said Trisha. She wants to give her patients a comfortable, safe, secure place to get care.
“I strive to give exceptional care,” adds Trisha. “I practice by incorporating nursing models into my everyday interactions with patients.” Nursing models focus on holistic care; taking into account physical, emotional, social, economic and spiritual needs of patients.
With her advanced degree in nursing she is able to incorporate the nursing and medical models to provide care. She loves teaching and educating her patients to help them feel empowered so they can take control of their health.
In her spare time, Trisha enjoys spending time with her two children and husband enjoying the outdoors. She also likes to work in her flower beds and spend time on the family’s hobby farm.
