The Chemotherapy & Infusion Center is staffed with registered nurses and pharmacists who specialize in outpatient intravenous care.
Services provided may include:
- Intravenous fluids for re-hydration
- Antibiotics
- Chemotherapy
- Specialty medications
- Genetic Testing - Appointments with the Genetics Counselor will be done virtually via a telemedicine visit.
And targeted therapies to treat a variety of conditions including:
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Crohn’s disease
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- Immune disorders
Supportive care for blood disorders is also provided, including:
- Blood and platelet transfusions
- Intravenous iron replacement
In addition to infusions, the nurses are available to assist with dressing changes, maintenance and care for central lines and implanted ports, as well as obtaining blood specimens for laboratory tests that may be ordered.
Where to Enter: The Cancer Center, Chemotherapy & Infusion Services at MyMichigan Medical Center Mt. Pleasant is accessed by entering the Emergency (Main) Entrance of the building. Take the elevator to the second floor.
