University of Michigan Health and MyMichigan Health have come together to offer expert consultation services to patients from central and northern Michigan with advanced or complex liver disease. Staffed by board-certified gastroenterologists from the University of Michigan and located in the Campus Ridge Building on the campus of MyMichigan Medical Center Midland, the goal of the Advanced Hepatology Clinic is the provide patients and referring physicians with timely consultations conveniently located close to home.
The Advanced Hepatology Clinic welcomes new patient consultations for the following conditions:
- Cirrhosis with ascites, encephalopathy, or malnutrition
- Chronic hepatitis B
- Metabolic and genetic liver disease including fatty liver, hemochromatosis
- Autoimmune liver disease including PSC, AIH, and PBC acute and chronic idiopathic and drug-induced hepatitis
- Liver or biliary tumors
- Complications of portal hypertension
- Hepatocellular carcinoma
