Description

MyKitchen Teaching Series

Learn Practical Ways to Improve Your Overall Heart Health

Photo of healthy foods and spices.A person’s diet has been found to be a contributing, modifiable risk factor for heart disease. This free educational series is aimed at helping people learn the importance of healthy eating to improve their overall heart health. Each 90-minute class was developed by a registered dietitian nutritionist and includes both an educational component, as well as a cooking demonstration which applies the concepts presented during class.

Check the Fats

We have all heard that we need to watch our fat and sodium intake in the foods we eat, but how do we practically do this? Join us as we talk about:

  • Types of dietary fats
  • Guidelines for how much fat we should eat
  • The ways to incorporate healthy fats into our daily lives

We will also discuss sodium in our diets and how much sodium we should be eating. Participants will learn tips on how to reduce their bad fat and sodium intake.

This class will conclude with a cooking demonstration of two recipes that will help demonstrate how to incorporate healthy guidelines into meal prep.
