- A 12-week program, consisting of 18 interactive group sessions
- A convenient virtual class
- Led by facilitators who have experience in lifestyle medicine
- A sustainable plan of action, built on six pillars of lifestyle medicine:
- Nutrition guidance - plant-rich eating pattern
- Physical activity
- Meaningful social connections
- Avoidance of risky substances
- Sleep and rest
- Stress management
Who is a Good Candidate for Wellness RX: Lifestyle Medicine?
Everyone! The majority of adults in the United States have at least one lifestyle factor that could be improved in order to improve their overall health or assist in managing a chronic disease or condition. The American College of Lifestyle Medicine encourages lifestyle changes as the first and optimal whole-person treatment option for all people, getting to the root cause of much of the chronic disease epidemic.
Lifestyle medicine may especially benefit patients who have been diagnosed with:
- Pre-diabetes and Type 2 diabetes
- Coronary artery disease
