MyKitchen Teaching Series

Learn Practical Ways to Improve Your Overall Heart Health

Photo of healthy foods and spices.A person’s diet has been found to be a contributing, modifiable risk factor for heart disease. This free educational series is aimed at helping people learn the importance of healthy eating to improve their overall heart health. Each 90-minute class was developed by a registered dietitian nutritionist and includes both an educational component, as well as a cooking demonstration which applies the concepts presented during class.

Mediterranean Diet

Learn the ins and outs of this well-researched diet. Class discussion will include:

  • What the Mediterranean Diet is
  • Guidelines of the diet
  • Heart health and research
  • Types of fats
  • Ways to incorporate the Mediterranean Diet foods into your every day life

This class with conclude with a cooking demonstration of three recipes that fit into the Mediterranean style of eating.
