Providing Encouragement, Education and Support
After undergoing a heart or vascular procedure, you face a variety of challenges and changes to your lifestyle, and are likely to have many questions regarding your post-surgical or post-procedure care. To assist you in this process, MyMichigan Health’s Cardiovascular Department has created a support group geared towards individuals who have underwent coronary bypass surgery, balloon angioplasty or a heart device implant, or those diagnosed with heart failure or peripheral artery disease. The group meets monthly and aims to provide encouragement, education and support, in addition to serving as a way for patients to meet others who have experienced similar health care situations.
During Healing Hearts meetings, experts will be available to field questions in the areas of:
- Cardiovascular Medicine
- Diet
- Medication Management
- Cardiac Rehabilitation
- Emotional and Psychosocial Needs
- And much more

Future meetings will be designed to meet the group’s needs and to address their challenges on the road to recovery.
