A person’s diet has been found to be a contributing, modifiable risk factor for heart disease. This free educational series is aimed at helping people learn the importance of healthy eating to improve their overall heart health. Each 90-minute class was developed by a registered dietitian nutritionist and includes both an educational component, as well as a cooking demonstration which applies the concepts presented during class.

This informative class is designed to provide a general overview of carbohydrates and sugars, as well as review current intake recommendations.
Participants will learn:
- The difference between complex and simple carbohydrates
- Added sugar versus natural sugar.
- Learn healthier ways to prepare recipes that are typically high in carbohydrates and added sugars
