Life After Cancer Diagnosis - Sault

A cancer diagnosis can turn one's world upside down. In the days and weeks following the news, patients may feel overwhelmed and lost on what to do. Getting information about a cancer diagnosis and treatment is a top priority. To help with support of a cancer diagnosis, MyMichigan Medical Center Sault has a support group to discuss adjusting to life after diagnosis.

The support group can help attendees:

  • Feel better, more hopeful and not so alone
  • Talk about and work through feelings
  • Deal with practical problems, such as problems at school or work
  • Cope with side effects of treatment

This group led by Holly Shank, P.A.-C., medical oncologist/hematologist, and Chelsea Hoffrichter, oncology nurse manager, MyMichigan Medical Center Sault, and is open to anyone who has ever received a cancer diagnosis or currently receiving treatment.
