Newborn Parenting Support Group - Alma
Whether someone is a first-time parent or a seasoned expert, caring for a newborn can be overwhelming. To help parents through the transition, MyMichigan Medical Center Alma offers the Newborn Parenting Support Group.
Led by an experienced childbirth educator, the Newborn Parenting Support Group covers a new topic each week. Discussions focus on the special needs of group members as they adjust to their baby and new role as parents.
Topics include infant nutrition, breastfeeding tips, mental and physical adjustments to new motherhood, fussy babies, sleep schedules, communicating with your baby (nonverbal communication, music, sign language), developmental milestones for the first year and physical/occupational/speech therapy as well as postpartum exercises and pelvic floor disorders.
