Parkinson's Support Group - Alma
Parkinson's affects many people. It is very common for people with Parkinson's and their caregivers to suffer a feeling of being alone, among many other obstacles caused by the condition.
This support group is designed for people with Parkinson's, their families and other support individuals. The group allows participants to share their journeys, obstacles, triumphs and provide emotional support for each other along the way.
Topics discussed will include: what disease management resources are available, a matter of balance, taking control: recognizing and managing signs and symptoms, advance directives, physical activity and Parkinson's, adult immunizations, MAPS - Medicare enrollment, Parkinson's medications and coping with the holidays.
The program is held in collaboration with MyMichigan Medical Center Alma and the Michigan Parkinson Foundation.
