Specialized Heart and Vascular Programs
With the exception of heart transplants, all other open heart surgery procedures can be performed in Midland. In fact, MyMichigan Medical Center Midland has the same level of advanced technology found at large academic medical centers, including state-of-the-art operating rooms, catheterization labs, electrophysiology labs, and a non-invasive vascular lab accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). This technology is supported by the latest in diagnostic testing, streamlined emergency response through MyMichigan’s Regional STEMI Alert Program, and cardiac rehabilitation for local follow-up care at MyMichigan affiliates throughout the region. In addition, heart transplants are performed through our affiliate Michigan Medicine, the health care division of the University of Michigan.
To ensure that patients have access to the latest in heart care evaluation and treatment, MyMichigan offers three specialized heart and vascular clinics. These include the Heart Failure Clinic with locations in Alma, Alpena, Clare, Gladwin, Midland and Mt. Pleasant; the Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Program featuring clinic locations in Alma, Alpena, Clare, Houghton Lake, Midland, Mt. Pleasant, Pigeon and Rogers City; and the Heart Valve Clinic located in Midland.
Our complete continuum of heart and vascular care, also including clinical trials, as well as innovative structural heart treatment solutions like TAVR and WATCHMAN.
