Upon entry to the program, our Spine and Pain experts will perform an initial history and physical examination before determining a care pathway that best meets your needs. Your movement through the program is guided by our standardized spine care algorithm, which is based on best-evidence practice in diagnosing and treating back pain. Throughout your care, we emphasize conservative methods and self-care where possible. The following services are available within MyMichigan's WellSpine program:

  • Rehabilitation Services - For acute first-time pain or symptoms, MyMichigan offers a full range of rehabilitation services in 11 convenient locations, including physical therapy and occupational therapy.
  • Spine and Pain Program - MyMichigan's Spine and Pain Program provides a balanced approach to pain treatment with a care plan tailored for each patient. Methods may include minimally invasive interventional procedures and medication management when appropriate.
  • Behavioral Health - Behavioral health experts are available to help you identify and manage emotional stressors that may be contributing to your symptoms.
  • Neurosurgery - Our board certified neurosurgeons can perform a range of simple to complex spine procedures including laminectomies, discectomies and fusions, with or without instrumentation.
