Biography
Jacquelyn Meehan, P.A.-C., is a certified physician assistant who specializes in cardiology. She works collaboratively with general and interventional cardiologists and is a member of MyMichigan’s comprehensive heart and vascular team. This team includes cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, structural heart and heart failure specialists, as well as vascular, thoracic and cardiovascular surgeons.
Jacquelyn developed an interest in cardiology while completing her undergraduate degree in exercise physiology and working with patients undergoing cardiac rehabilitation and stress testing. “The heart is fascinating in all the intricate ways it works,” she said. “I also believe it to be the most important aspect of the human body.”
Philosophy of Care
Jacquelyn believes in developing personable, compassionate and trusting relationships with her patients.
“I believe that managing disease should be a collaborative effort between the provider and the patient,” she said. “This collaboration is achieved by making communication and education the center of the relationship. I enjoy educating my patients on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Being able to help them manage their disease and see their overall health improve is very rewarding.”
Special Interests and Procedures
Jacquelyn is especially interested in the areas of coronary artery disease and heart failure management.
In her free-time, she enjoys staying active, whether it’s exploring the great outdoors, participating in sports or engaging in daily exercise. She also enjoys spending time with her husband George, her dog Willow and her cat Timber.
