Philosophy of Care
Family Medicine was my first rotation as a medical student, and while I enjoyed every rotation, the rewards and challenges that I experienced in family medicine made it the best career path for me.
“Family Medicine is the oldest specialty in medicine, and indeed is the basis of all medical specialties. Historically, family physicians saw patients in their homes, delivered babies, took care of fractures, performed surgeries, treated any and all illnesses, and helped patients through what is now called hospice care. While we may not do all of those things single-handedly today, we play a vital role as the first point of contact and trusted guide to help our patients navigate all aspects of their care.”
“I’m honored to carry on that tradition by creating long-lasting relationships of trust with my patients that enable me to be a part of their lives for years. I will be there for them in their times of need, and I also love seeing them later when they’ve recovered, healed, and are doing well.”
“I respect every patient for the individual they are. I actively listen to what they have to say and take a few extra minutes to get to know them. I hope patients will feel that my office is a welcoming and non-judgmental place where anyone from any walk of life can come for their medical care.”
“I try create an atmosphere that dissolves barriers and worries. I want my patients to understand that I’m here to help them, and that they won’t be judged or lectured. I want us to work together to meet their health needs and goals.”
“Education is a huge part of my practice, both for the patient and for myself, and I work tirelessly to continue to gain and offer knowledge to my patients.”
“My practice also encompasses services like gynecology, prenatal care and delivery that are less common in other family practices, but which are a passion of mine. I love caring for expecting mothers and their babies, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to deliver babies in West Branch.”
“While I love my job, I do enjoy several activities outside of work. I spend as much time as possible with my husband, Blaise, and our two sons. We enjoy camping, hiking, bike riding, gardening, and searching for wildlife. I also enjoy running, sewing, and reading books.”
