Biography
Bridgett Berg, F.N.P.-B.C., M.S.N., is a certified family nurse practitioner and a member of MyMichigan Health’s comprehensive musculoskeletal team. Bridgett sees patients in the office of Orthopedic Surgeon Mark Goethe, M.D. She has worked for MyMichigan Health for more than 10 years and has enjoyed being part of its ongoing growth and success.
“I have always been interested in learning and understanding the extensive role orthopedics plays in the physical anatomy of each human being,” she said. “It’s not just about the supportive bone structure, but also the connective arrangements that all work together to create a complex musculoskeletal system.”
Philosophy of Care
Bridgett’s philosophy of care is comprised of her strong commitment to caring for the needs of each patient she encounters. “I believe that this commitment aids in building trusting relationships with my patients and allows me to provide excellent care,” she added. “I want my patients to feel comfortable and confident in having me as their provider.”
According to Bridgett, the most satisfying aspect of her work is being able to assist patients in reaching a superlative state of well-being. “As a provider, I go into great detail to fully explain options (both surgical and non-surgical) in regard to their care,” she said. “This allows the patient to feel confident and to become a willing participant in their care and not feel disconnected. I believe this contributes to providing excellent outcomes for my patients. It also leads patients in wanting to continue to choose our orthopedic team for their care.”
Special Interests and Procedures
“The most exciting development in the field of orthopedics is the advancement and longevity of implantable devices,” she said. “We have seen patients that were once nearly debilitated by arthritic or traumatic damage become capable of reaching an optimal state of health again.”
Bridgett also added that bone and mineral health specialists have recently become a larger focus within the field of orthopedics. “It is great to see that in-depth focus of demineralization and recommendations for improvement related to each individualized patient,” she added.
When she’s not working, Bridgett enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, attending sporting events, as well as enjoying time with her family.
