Biography
Anne Marceau, F.N.P.-B.C., is a family nurse practitioner who specializes in general surgery. A member of MyMichigan Medical Group, she sees patients in Alpena.
She was attracted to the field of general surgery because it’s challenging, and there’s always room to learn and grown. Anne likes that general surgery encompasses many body systems, which require a deep understanding of the patient as a whole to provide excellent care.
“I am new of the specialty of general surgery, and I look forward to continuing to expand my knowledge of this evolving field,” Anne said.
Philosophy of Care
Anne believes in using the best evidence to provide high-quality care while the patient and their individual needs remain the central focus. “I hope to feel like a partner to patients and their families to assist them in making informed health care decisions most appropriate for their situation,” she said.
“The most satisfying aspect of my work is helping patients and their families to be active participants in their health care decisions by providing education on disease processes and courses of treatment,” Anne said. “The moment you see a patient understanding and feeling empowered is satisfying.”
Anne is committed to listening to her patients and working with them to meet their needs while collaborating closely with physicians and other members of the health care team to achieve the best outcome.
She has a special interest in caring for patients with cancer and helping them navigate their diagnosis and care. “I have found these patients and their families have much to coordinate, and it can be overwhelming for them,” she said.
