Biography
Kari Malinowski, P.A.-C., specializes in Thoracic Surgery. She sees patients at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland.
Philosophy of Care
Kari’s philosophy of care involves helping patients best understand their condition and the treatment options that are available to them. “I want patients to feel comfortable asking me any questions they may have,” she said. “One of the most satisfying aspects of my work is having patients know that I have truly heard them and take their concerns seriously. I want them to have a clear understanding of their diagnosis and care plan, knowing that I will be there for them every step of the way.”
She is passionate about her specialty in thoracic surgery. Kari is particularly excited about the low-dose lung screening CT scan which was developed recently. “This scan is used with high-risk populations and can be very effective in the prevention and early detection of lung cancer,” she said. “I truly want what is best for patients, and this tool can help us deliver early interventions.”
Kari works intently to create a care plan tailored to the individual patient. “There are obviously commonalities for patients who receive the same diagnosis,” she explains. “Even so, no two patients have the same life stories. And while they may have the same or similar diagnoses, that doesn’t necessarily mean their plan of care will be identical. I do my best to look at the big picture when deciding the appropriate course of action for each individual.”
