Philosophy of Care
“I love being able to work with patients of all ages and to help them attain their own healthcare goals to better their lives,” said Shelby. “I enjoy working with children as I have two of my own, but I also cherish time spent with the older adult population.”
“I believe it is my job to assist patients in making the best healthcare choices possible to better their everyday lives and their quality of life. I encourage patients to be proactive in their own care and I take the time to listen to their thoughts and needs.”
“I want my patients to feel comfortable with me to discuss all healthcare needs, and to know they can trust me to give them the best advice and options available.”
“The most satisfying aspect of my work is truly helping patients through difficult times in their lives and making a difference in their healthcare and life outcomes. I thrive seeing patients doing better for themselves and enjoying life to the best of their ability.”
“I will always take the time to listen to the patient’s concerns and ideas regarding their healthcare and life choices. I will be honest with them and work with them to obtain a common goal that is in their absolute best interest.”
“There is constantly new information and treatments for a variety of ailments, and I believe it is key for me to continuously learn and research all areas to better serve my patients through the years in this ever-changing healthcare field.”
“I enjoy working with patients of all ages, though I particularly enjoy working with the pediatric population; children are resilient and unique, and it is a joy to watch them grow and develop through the years and to hit their personal milestones. I also have interest in cardiology, as my background in nursing gave me insight into cardiac procedures and dysfunctions of the heart and vascular system.”
“I love to be with my family and friends. My husband and I and our two children spend time camping and boating in the summer. I enjoy being outdoors throughout all the seasons. I like to read, and I enjoy learning.”
“My husband Chad and I have two children, a girl and a boy; Addison, age 4 and Luke, age 3 months. We love being parents and plan to have more children.”
“I was born and raised in northern mid-Michigan, and I plan to stay here and serve my community. I am originally from the Tawas area where I grew up and went to high school, and I now live in the West Branch area where I plan to stay. It humbles and satisfies me to be able to serve and work with patients from this community which I live in, and to be able to form relationships with my patients and to stay with them for the long haul.”
