Philosophy of Care
Carson’s philosophy of care includes promoting healthy lifestyles with a focus on preventative measures while supporting patients and their families through acute and chronic illnesses. She wants patients to feel comfortable sharing issues and concerns by building strong relationships. “I like to listen to a patient’s concerns, teach them what I know, tell them the current research-based recommendations and empower them to make decisions for their health.”
Carson enjoys getting to know patients and families throughout their lives. She finds solving medical mysteries and providing support through tough times rewarding. “I want my patients to feel comfortable bringing anything to me and working with me through their health issues,” she added.
Carson is excited by the current climate in health care which involves a team approach. “Adding physician assistants, care managers, social workers, etc., to the family practice allows for very thorough patient care,” she said. “Patient-centered medical home programs that encourage and incentivize practices to provide whole and complete patient care to reduce healthcare costs also strengthens patient relationships and care. It’s good for our communities.”
When not at work, Carson enjoys walking, camping and exploring with her husband, Woody, daughter, Maci and their two dogs. She also likes to shop and traveling to warm, sunny destinations.
