Biography
Sarah Caszatt, A.G.P.C.N.P.-B.C., is a Breast Health Specialist who oversees the High Risk Breast Clinic and is a member of the comprehensive cancer care team at MyMichigan Health. Sarah is dedicated to understanding her patients’ needs and working alongside them to build a personalized care plan. Her patients will be offered a higher level of expertise in breast health, including the options in advanced screenings and preventative measures.
“I work alongside a great radiologist and breast surgeon here at MyMichigan Health, and a fantastic plastic surgery team from Michigan Medicine,” said Sarah.
She works closely with patients who have an elevated lifetime risk for developing breast cancer. Sarah validates personal and family history, provides education on breast cancer risk reduction methods, and makes recommendations for breast cancer screenings.
Sarah’s goal is to appropriately screen for breast cancer so it can be caught early, treated and her patients can get back to life. Health care is making strides in reducing the risk of and preventing breast cancer. She will educate her patients about ways to reduce their risk and help them form a personalized screening plan.
In addition to the High Risk Breast Clinic, Sarah also sees patients for follow-ups from breast surgery. She works closely with Adeyiza Momoh, M.D. and Andrew Zwyghuizen, M.D., plastic and reconstructive surgeons with Michigan Medicine to manage breast reconstruction. She is also an active participant on tumor boards. Sarah has been a nurse practitioner since 2014 and is passionate about supporting oncology patients during their care. She will be available to see patients through telehealth or in person at the Center for Women’s Health on the campus of MyMichigan Medical Center Midland.
Philosophy of Care
“I want my patients to feel welcomed and comfortable in my office, like they are visiting a friend,” said Sarah. “I value patient input and want to work together to solve problems. I encourage my patients to bring all of their questions; nothing is TMI in my clinic.”
Sarah is diligent in listening to her patients to come up with a mutual decision regarding diagnosis or workup. “I enjoy providing my patients with education that can help them make positive changes in their health,” she said.
“I understand facing a cancer diagnosis is terrifying, and I’m here to help and walk alongside you in that journey,” Sarah added. “I want to get to know you and help you continue your life before, during and after your cancer diagnosis.”
