Biography
Orthopedic surgeon Eric Cornish, M.D., is board certified and specializes in total joint replacements, shoulder and knee arthroscopy, fracture care and general orthopedics.
Philosophy of Care
“Each patient brings unique health concerns and goals to my office,” said Dr. Cornish. “It is my goal to evaluate each person’s concerns, not just their symptoms, and individualize a treatment plan to help them reach their health goal.”
Dr. Cornish provides comprehensive care looking at all treatment options including medication management, therapy and injections prior to considering surgery. When he believes surgery is the best treatment plan, Dr. Cornish educates patients on the surgical process and recovery.
Special Interests and Procedures
Dr. Cornish has a special interest in total joint replacements, shoulder, hand, knee arthroscopy, fracture care and general orthopedics.
In addition, he has an interest in osteoporosis and devotes time to reading bone density studies (DEXA scans).
Dr. Cornish and his wife, Michelle, enjoy being active in northern Michigan. In his free-time, he loves to sail, bike and hike trails with his Labrador retriever, Finn. Dr. Cornish and Michelle host exchange students from around the world. He’s also an avid traveler and enjoys seeking out adventures such as kayaking and zip-lining.
