Biography
Rebekah L. Dunn, P.A. is a physician assistant specializing in family medicine. She sees patients of all ages at MyMichigan Health Park West Branch.
Philosophy of Care
“My goal is to help patients throughout all stages of their life attain and maintain an optimum level of health,” said Rebekah. “I have a strong commitment to empower patients to become proactive and educated partners in their healthcare decisions. Healthcare should be a team effort.”
“I believe that developing a partnership with someone you can trust, to converse with and to offer evidence-based methods of prevention and treatment can greatly improve your opportunity to live a long and healthy life. I pride myself on lending a non-judgmental ear while offering empathy and compassion to each patient encounter. We all need help from time to time, and I want to be there for you in your time of need.”
“I also feel it is vitally important for the provider-patient relationship to maintain honesty, as a lack of transparency can lead to unintentional and serious adverse outcomes. As much as I want to help everyone with every need, I realize that I do have limits and that establishing healthy boundaries between patient and provider creates a safe, honest, and effective relationship.”
“Throughout my previous career and educational journey, I have especially enjoyed the investigative aspect of medicine. I feel an obligation to impart to others the valuable information I have learned, and continue to learn, regarding preventive health recommendations and best practice medicine. I pledge to always put the patient’s best interests first and offer my knowledge and access to resources as a gateway in helping them achieve optimal health, both physical and emotional.”
“I have been a member of this community since I was four years old. I have roots here and hope to be here for many years. I believe that I am fair, honest, compassionate, and hard working. I chose this career to help make a positive difference in lives of my patients.”
Rebekah and her husband, Mike are both Michigan natives. They live in the area with their daughters Mia and Morgan and son Mason.
“I enjoy many of the outdoor activities that northern Michigan has to offer, such as camping, fishing and bicycling. I like spending time outside puttering around in my yard, whether it’s working in flower beds or simply lounging in my hammock. I look forward to morning coffee on the front porch with my husband, dinnertime discussions with our kids, and spending time with friends and family.”
