Biography
Mark English, M.D., specializes in obstetrics and gynecology and welcomes patients to MyMichigan Obstetrics and Gynecology in Midland. He joins Julayne Bullard, P.A.-C., Kelly Hamilton, M.D., Omosalewa Itauma, M.D., M.P.H., Tosin Joshua, M.D., Natalie Kroll, D.O., Elvira O’Brien, M.D., and Sarah Sokolov, P.A.-C.
Philosophy of Care
Dr. English was attracted to the obstetrics and gynecology medical specialty because it provides him a mix of clinical and surgical practice where he can help with the long-term care of his patients. “It is rewarding as a provider to be able to support my patients in some of the happiest and most challenging moments in their lives.”
“My philosophy of care is to listen to patients and provide them with all the information to help them make informed decisions regarding their care,” said Dr. English.
Creating a relationship based on trust and communication is essential to Dr. English. “I hope my patients will see me as a provider who is open to communication and listening to their concerns while also being able to provide them with recommendations to best provide them with care,” he added.
During his residency at the University of Toledo, he was twice awarded the Arthur P. Gold Foundation Humanism Award. The award is identified by their students based on exceptional teaching skills and commitment to the compassionate treatment of patients and their families, students and colleagues. He also was a two-time recipient of the University of Toledo Obstetric and Gynecology Department’s Outstanding Resident Teacher Award for his role in medical students’ education.
Special Interests and Procedures
Dr. English believes the ease and availability of genetic testing for obstetric patients and hereditary cancer screening has greatly improved patient care.
He has a special interest in minimally invasive robotic surgery, genetic counseling and managing obstetrical care.
When not working, Dr. English enjoys reading, cooking, collecting vinyl records, supporting the Detroit Lions and Pistons and playing board games with friends and family.
