Biography
Sarah Freeburg, P.A.-C., specializes in family medicine. She sees patients of all ages in the Campus Ridge Building in Midland.
Philosophy of Care
“My philosophy is to see the whole person, not just the one concern,” said Sarah. “It is important for my patients to know I am their advocate and want the very best for them. I try to live by the words of ‘do not spend your whole life waiting to start living.’”
“Prevention is also important. I like to focus on what we already have the knowledge to prevent.”
“I was attracted to family practice due to the diversity of disease states; one visit might be routine hypertension and the next could be acute appendicitis. This keeps me on my toes.”
“Sometimes a patient’s concern can be challenging like a puzzle; it is so rewarding to solve these issues, oftentimes with the patient’s own words being the most important piece.”
“Family practice allows me to maintain lifelong relationships with my patients as they evolve in their lives. The bond between a patient and provider is fulfilling and enriching.”
Sarah is known by her patients and colleagues as an active listener with a positive attitude.
“I want my patients to ask questions and know that I am here to help them live their best life,” she said. “It is important for them to feel 100 percent comfortable with me managing their care. Their confidence in me leads to the best care.”
“The most satisfying aspect of my work is lifting off the burden of stress for my patient. No matter how major or minor a concern might appear, it is everything to that individual patient. It makes my heart happy to see calm set in for my patients as we work through life’s challenges together.”
“The most exciting medical discovery that I regularly use in my field are vaccines. To know that we have eradicated certain diseases through vaccination is beyond incredible. COVID-19 brings a timely opportunity to this field; this disease is devastating but vaccination will ultimately lead to prevention in our future.”
During her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike and energetic toddler son.
“We enjoy bike riding, going on walks and exploring our new life in Michigan,” she said. “I personally enjoy cooking, as well as listening to country music and Christmas music all year round. We are originally from the Chicago area and moved to the Midland area after years of visiting family here. COVID-19 helped us reevaluate what we wanted and where we wanted to be in life. We are looking forward to exploring more of the area.”
