Biography

Schuyler Rogg, M.D., M.B.A., is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pain management specialist with MyMichigan Health’s Spine and Pain Program.

As a pain management physician, Dr. Rogg provides balanced pain management care to diagnose and treat conditions such as neck and back pain, including work-related injuries and sciatica; persistent pain after back or neck surgery; arthritis pain in spine and joints; Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS); nerve damage; muscle spasm pain; shingles pain and headaches.

“I went into the field of pain medicine because I wanted to help individuals improve their overall functionality, mental outlook and quality of life,” he said. “The field of pain management is continually advancing with more and more minimally-invasive procedures available to help patients effectively minimize their pain. Our treatment plans incorporate a variety of modalities, including physical therapy, minimally invasive interventional procedures and medication management when appropriate.”

Philosophy of Care

According to Dr. Rogg, patient satisfaction and continuity of care are very important to him. “I work hard to build strong relationships with my patients so that I can better understand their unique challenges and needs,” he said. “This allows me to create tailored care plans for my patients with the goal of restoring them to the functions of their daily lives. My goal and the overall goal of our program is to provide patients with safe, evidence-based, minimally-invasive pain relief solutions to allow them greater autonomy in their daily pain management. To ensure continuity of care, I work closely with the patient’s referring provider and keep them informed throughout the course of their treatment.”

Special Interests and Procedures

Dr. Rogg has completed certifications in Vertiflex, minimally invasive lumbar decompression (MILD), DiscFX, and TenJet. The Tenjet system is an ultra-guided treatment used to help people who suffer from chronic tendon pain.

He has authored and co-authored several journal articles related to pain management and treatment modalities. His hobbies include strength training with focus on compound lifting, mathematical economics, and comparative religion.
