Biography
Emily Rummer, M.S.N., A.G.N.P.-C, specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She sees patients at MyMichigan Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Alma.
Philosophy of Care
A large part of Emily’s philosophy involves listening. “My philosophy of care is providing individualized, empathetic care to each of my patients,” she stated. “My goal is to listen to my patients and really hear what they need from me in order to help them be happier and healthier.”
Emily’s goal is to create relationships of trust with patients. “I find it very important to be empathetic with patients but also believe honesty and an open discussion about expected outcomes are necessary to allow them to make the best possible decisions with their future,” she said. For Emily, building that trusting relationship with patients also includes patient education, pharmacological recommendations, referrals, lifestyle changes and compassionate care.
Emily is excited to be working where she grew up. “I have lived in Alma my entire life, and it was important to me to stay close to home and make a difference within my own community.
When not working, Emily enjoys crafting, reading and spending time outdoors with her husband, Shane, their dog, Pixie and extended family.
