Biography
Shayna Sian, A.G.P.C.N.P.-B.C., M.S.N., is a certified nurse practitioner who specializes in cardiology. She works collaboratively with general and interventional cardiologists and is a member of MyMichigan Health’s comprehensive heart and vascular team. This team includes cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, structural heart and heart failure specialists, as well as vascular, thoracic and cardiovascular surgeons.
Shayna has always been interested in the field of cardiology and loves to educate her patients on the best way to move forward with their heart health.
Philosophy of Care
Her philosophy of care is to educate patients on not only on the disease process that they have but also the treatment for it. “I want to create a trusting relationship with my patients, one where they feel comfortable talking to me about themselves,” said Shayna. “The most satisfying aspect of my job is seeing my patients improve and be able to manage their disease process. I enjoy spending time with my patients and finding a way to educate my patients in a way that they are able to understand the information that I am sharing with them.”
Special Interests and Procedures
Shayna enjoys teaching her patients how they can take control of their cardiac health through diet and exercise. She feels that the most significant advancement in the field of cardiology is being able to provide lifesaving treatment through minimally invasive procedures such as TAVR, Watchman and coronary stenting. In her free time, Shayna enjoys spending time with her husband Adam and their three children Audrey, Micah and Penelope. She also likes reading books and running.
