Biography
Beth Spiris, F.N.P.-B.C., M.S.N., is a certified nurse practitioner who specializes in electrophysiology. She works with Clinical Electrophysiologists Opesanmi Esan, M.D., Nilofar Islam, M.D., and William Michael Mellana Jr., M.D. As electrophysiologists, the team uses specialized equipment to diagnose, and develop treatment plans for, patients with heart rhythm problems.
Prior to working in electrophysiology, Beth worked in the intensive care unit at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland where she oversaw post-cardiac arrest, post-operative and cardiac catheterization patients; as well as patients with sepsis and those in renal failure. “In my previous role, I was fortunate to be able to care for cardiac patients on an inpatient basis,” said Beth. “Now I’m excited to be able to educate and work with them in an office-based setting.”
Philosophy of Care
“I strive to provide the best evidence-based care for my patients and develop a care plan in collaboration with them,” she said. “I work to educate my patients and always communicate with them on a level that they will understand.”
According to Beth, the most satisfying aspect of her work is seeing her patients feeling better and having an improved quality of life.
In her spare time, Beth enjoys spending time with her husband Mike and their daughter. Additionally, she likes to travel and spend time in the outdoors.
