Biography

Denise Stadelmaier, D.O., is an orthopedic surgeon with MyMichigan Health and treats a full range of orthopedic problems, including sports-related injuries and joint replacements. Dr. Stadelmaier sees patients in Midland.

Fellowship trained in sports medicine at Baylor University College of Medicine, Dr. Stadelmaier is the only sports medicine fellowship-trained surgeon in Midland. During her fellowship, Dr. Stadelmaier assisted in the care of athletes with the Houston Rockets, Astros, Oilers and the University of Houston Cougars. As an undergraduate at Clemson University, Dr. Stadelmaier was recognized twice as an academic All-American in volleyball and graduated magna cum laude. She was also inducted into the Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999.

In addition, Dr. Stadelmaier also completed specialized training in foot and ankle surgery at Hutzel Hospital in Detroit; hand surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Ann Arbor; orthopedic trauma surgery at Florida Orthopedic Institute/Tampa General Hospital in Tampa; and pediatric orthopedics at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

According to Dr. Stadelmaier, by getting to know her patients she can more effectively prescribe an individualized plan for treatment and rehabilitation. “I believe in treating each person as an individual and not as an injury,” she said. “By understanding each patients’ overall goals and what they hope to achieve, I can customize their treatment plan to maximize their overall results.”
