Biography
Julian Wan, M.D., is a clinical leader in the field of pediatric urology and serves on the medical staff at the University of Michigan, as well as MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland. Dr. Wan, along with his colleague John Park, M.D., provide a monthly Pediatric Urology Specialty Clinic on the campus of MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland to offer expert consultation services to parents across central and northern Michigan with children suffering from complex urological conditions and disorders.
Dr. Wan is the medical director of the Pediatric Urology Clinic at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and currently serves as the Pediatric Urology Section Editor for the Journal of Urology. He is also a clinical leader in the Division of Pediatric Urology within Michigan Medicine’s Department of Urology.
Philosophy of Care
“My philosophy of care centers around being approachable and eager to talk with parents and children in ways they can relate,” said Dr. Wan. “This may include drawing pictures and diagrams to help explain why a child is experiencing pain in a certain spot or why we’re taking certain steps in their care.”
Special Interests and Procedures
Dr. Wan’s clinical interests include vesicoureteral reflux, voiding dysfunction, urodynamics, hypospadias and undescended testicles.
